Training Content Writer

Job Title:             Training Content Writer  

The Onni Group is a leading real estate firm based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada with offices in Seattle, Phoenix, Toronto, Los Angeles and Chicago. This diverse company is vertically integrated with in-house departments responsible for execution of the company’s activities including property development, construction and management as well as leasing, sales and marketing.

Position Summary

This position develops learning objectives and performance outcomes for training courses/learning activities, develops content to meet learning objectives, and identifies appropriate delivery mechanisms. The position develops trainer and participant materials, interactive LMS courses, release notes, user guides, and other content that will directly impact employee’s knowledge of business applications. The position works with developers, product managers, and support team to develop and implement methodologies to review and assess learning materials and make recommendations for improvements. The position is responsible for managing learning design and development projects, including engaging and managing learning development platforms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Developing and maintaining visually engaging and interactive online and instructor-led training experiences that are inventive and inspiring
  • Creating unique and innovative training experiences that incorporate contemporary instructional design theories and participant-focused activities that are visually stimulating and inviting
  • Produce and deliver a variety of end-user learning materials that accommodate diverse learning styles while aligning with business needs
  • Quality controlling and improving online training experiences through developing interactive and imaginative participant-focused activities (such as simulations, games, videos, animations, graphics, or other visual communication)
  • Working with subject matter experts, technical documentation, and/or project tracking software to create and maintain training experiences
  • Maintaining and updating existing training based on product introductions, product changes, and feedback
  • Performing effective project management to meet established deadlines
  • Establishing project outlines and deadlines for projects
  • Building scalable and repeatable processes for the scoping, creation, maintenance, and launch of training experiences
  • Performing basic tasks in the Avigilon Training Center such as uploading or replacing published SCORM files
  • Evaluating training by measuring results and recommending changes

Additional Duties & Responsibilities

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

Experience in Adult Education, Instructional Design, Information and Learning Technologies or related field or equivalent experience. A minimum of five years’ experience in designing, developing and evaluating curriculum, learning activities and resources for self-directed e-learning, instructor-led classroom training and on-the-job practice activities. Previous experience supporting Yardi Voyager and ancillary modules preferred. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
